Possibly Deleting LLOP
Speaking of purpose, when LLOP blog was created, it was created with the intention of being a community blog. One where we all would share prayer requests, words of wisdoms, testimonies, revelation, questions and anything else that was on our hearts and minds. It was also a place where we would find common ground by meditating on memory scriptures together. It was never the intention for it to be "my" blog. With that said, I'm not sure if LLOP is accomplishing its mission so I'm sincerely considering deleting it or possibly letting it hang out there inactive.
I'll wait to hear from the LLOP fam before I make any decisions.
Much Love

Memory Scripture 23
If you make yourselves at home with me and my words are at home in you, you can be sure that whatever you ask will be listened to and acted upon. You didn't choose me, remember; I chose you, and put you in the world to bear fruit, fruit that won't spoil. As fruit bearers, whatever you ask the Father in relation to me, he gives you.

Week 1 Bible Study Notes
Notes from week 1:
Believing God can really be work at times! When external evidences scream to the contrary, we have to exert volitional muscle. Deciding to believe God's Word over our circumstances can be a tremendous exercise of the will at times. I'll just go ahead and say it: the great adventure of faith is not for the languid, but if He can raise the dead, He can surely enliven the lazy! We have been called to a present-active-participle walk of faith, not a park 'n' ride.
***Although I started the bible study several weeks ago, i'm just now moving to week 2. I'm doing a little "caving" and therefore took a little more time than planned on week 1.

Hmm....
Dr: "hello, how are you?"
me: "doing well."
Dr: "what brings you by today, just an annual check-up?"
me: "yep, that's it, just an annual check-up."
***doc is now going through her list of who, what, when, where, why and how and then she gets to this question.
Dr: "do you have any children?"
me: "no."
Dr: "how old are you?"
me: "32"
Dr: "do you plan on having any?" with her eyebrows raised.
me: "yes"
Dr: "when?" still has those eyebrows raised.
me: "I have to get married first."
Dr: "uhm. are there any prospects?" yep, eyebrows still raised.
me: "no."
Dr: sighing with a look that seems to say 'hmm, i don't know about this.'
me: not appreciating the look or the apprehension but completely understanding that she's a student of science, i said to her "do you believe in God?"
Dr: "yes" while she chuckles like 'of course.'
me: "well pray for me."
Dr: she says "okay" still chuckling. then she says "if you don't have any kids within the next 2 - 3 years, I would suggest that you go to the fertility clinic (i'm getting blue in the face at this point) and freeze your eggs."
me: nothing. absolutely nothing. i said nothing at all. i just looked at her. i didn't know what to say. i actually think i went numb. i was so numb that i don't really recall the "exam" and most of you know how much i absolutely do not like that appointment.
okay, i think i'm still numb. as much as i don't want to think about it, the reality is i can't wait forever to have children. i know there are some modern day saras out there but that just isn't what i want or desire. aaahhh...still numb.
isn't this a good time for the online bible study we're doing, "Believing God." Beth Moore often talks about how we should get caught in the act of believing. if you haven't signed up, i highly recommend it. we're only on week 1 so there's still time to join in.

Memory Scripture 22
A sure fire way to having an effective prayer life, one where you know you're praying God's will, is to pray the scriptures. I'm a firm believer in praying the scriptures because His Word will not return to Him void (Isaiah 55:11).
NJK v9b - 12:
v9b - we...do not cease to pray for you, and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;
v10 - that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God;
v11 - strengthened with all might, according to His glorious power, for all patience and longsuffering with joy;
v12 - giving thanks to the Father who has qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the light.
The scripture is re-written as a prayer below (taken from the message bible), feel free to fill in the blanks with your name or the names of others.
Message v9b, 11- 12
Father, I pray that You give ________ a wise mind and spirit attuned to Your will, and so acquire a thorough understanding of the ways in which You work. I pray that ________ will have the strength to stick it out over the long haul - not the grim strength of gritting my/his/her/their teeth but the glory-strength that You give. It is strength that endures the unendurable and spills over into joy, thanking You, our Father, who makes us strong enough to take part in everything bright and beautiful that You have for us. Finding Order in a Busy Season
Okay, back to the regularly scheduled program....
Finding order in a busy season. I'm beginning to think that there is no such thing as a busy season. What i've been defining as a busy season seems to just be life. If it's not this it's that and if it's not that then it's this - basically it's one thing or another. Perhaps I should replace the word "busy" with productive. Yeah, I like that better, productive. If we are in fact working while it's day as the bible admonishes us to, then we probably do feel "busy" most times. There's really no time for unplanned or extended idleness. I can testify how one day turns into 2, which turns into a week, which turns into a month. Ah ha! My thought pattern has been interrupted.....here's what came to mind:
While typing, I was suddenly reminded of our foremother in Proverbs 31, here is what we know about her from v.27, "She watches over the ways of her household, And does not eat the bread of idleness." Or the message bible says it like this "She keeps an eye on everyone in her household, and keeps them all busy and productive. " Okay, so how do we (or me if i'm alone in this) be busy and productive? How should I keep order in my life? I've been struggling to find a balance for several months (since the July 24th's "Reboot" post). Let's see, I may have a solution.
I'm an analytical person so by default I operate with the left side of my brain. In order to be optimally effective, I need order, to-do lists, calendars and other organizational tools. This works for me in my career and in my social life so I'm thinking it's high time I use these tools in my spiritual life as well. With our online bible study beginning, this is a good time for me to be more purposeful in my biblical study and quiet time - you know, doing it on purpose. Not fitting it in, not being neglectful, but truly on purpose and with focused intent I will continue studying to show myself approved and seeking Him so that he will tell me great and mighty things that I do not know (jeremiah 33:3). What I did last season is no longer effective so I need to try something different.
Here's my new regimen until further notice:
Morning - 15 Minutes of Fulfillment (title borrowed from a co-worker):
- Quiet Reflection
- Review & Recite Memory Scriptures
- Morning Prayer
- Spoken Affirmation
Evening - Hour of Power ("hour" here is not literal)
- Bible Study
- Meditation
- Prayer
- Spoken Affirmation
Any of you have a prescription that's working? Please do share.

Online Bible Study - Believing God
The bible study comes highly recommended by me. I plan on starting the week of Monday, September 22. The cost for the online bible study is $23.95 and it's a 10 week session (which will take us through the month of November).
Please comment back and let me know if you plan on completing the study. I'd love to have a discussion on the blog during our study.

Memory Scripture 21
I know what I'm doing. I have it all planned out - plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for.(NKJ: For I know the thoughts that I think towards you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.)
Philippians 4:8 (Message Bible Translation)
Summing it all up, friends, I'd say you'll do best by filling your minds and meditating on things true, noble, reputable, authentic, compelling, gracious - the best, not the worst; the beautiful, not the ugly; things to praise, not things to curse.
(NKJ: Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy--meditate on these things.)
Ahhh...these memory scriptures could not have come at a better time! Prayerfully they are just as timely for you as they are for me. Against all odds, against all circumstances, against all feelings, against all naysayers, against all logic - we must not only believe IN God, but we MUST BELIEVE Him (period). Dear Lord help me. Even as I type i'm having an internal battle between spirit and flesh. The spirit is willing but the flesh is...uhm...gonna get beat into submission because i'm sick and tired of being sick and tired. (you thought I was gonna say weak didn't you - well i'm changing the script:-).
If I gave you a cliff hanger and left you wondering, just know that all is well. I'm having one of those moments when you have to truly remind yourself of what God said and not give into the temptation to rely on what you see or comprehend, and definitely not what you feel (I can write a thesis on how dangerous our 'feelings' can be). It is that moment when you have to focus your mind and meditate on things that are true, such as God's word. I don't mean just casually think, I mean when you have to do it on purpose and with intent. Then you realize, the thing that makes you valuable (other than the blood) is the Word that He spoke to you, over you and for you. Yep, it's a battle for the Word within me and within you.
I do solicit your prayers and I promise to pray for you as well. Let's continue to pray for our fellow LLOP family. Let's also pray for those who may be experiencing the effects of hurricane season.
Much Love!

Memory Scripture 20
Joshua 1:8 This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.
Notes: If you look up the word "meditate" from Joshua 1:8 you will find that mediate is not merely a mental exercise but also a verbal one. Mediate in this text can be defined as to think or to speak. Therefore, we must not only think on the word, we must also speak the word. Faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the Word of the Lord. Speak the scriptures aloud and allow your faith to come by the hearing of the Word.
Prayer: Heavenly father you are holy and there is none like you. I pray that you continue to give me a hunger for your Word. I pray for continued revelation that I may be careful to observe to do according to all that is written in it. May your word be a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path. May it continue to lead me into all righteousness, living a life that brings you glory. May it be the standard by which I judge myself and may it provide the wisdom to make personal adjustments as necessary. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.
Declaration: Father I thank you that everything begins and ends with your Word. I thank you that you and the Word are one and when I spend time in the Word, I'm spending time with you; when I live by the precepts in the Word, I'm living a life that's pleasing to you. Today I'm making my way prosperous because I keep your Word in my heart and mouth. According to your word I am what I think so I think on your Word and therefore I speak those things that are in agreement with you. Thank you Lord that me, my household, and everything that pertains to me are walking in the fullness of your glory and favor.

Reboot
A. you have a computer
B. at some point you've had to reboot that joker
Well my lovely sistahs, i'm here to declare July 24th as my day to reboot, restart my machine and reintroduce myself to focus, commitment and discipline. Somewhere somehow, one day at a time, I've managed to allow laziness to invade my space. Not only did laziness take up residence, he brought along tiredness and excuses (notice the usage of masculine pronoun here...i'll save feminine pronouns for things like wisdom and knowledge. lol). Now yall know that I do not have a problem conducting a little self evaluation and being "real" with myself. Once I realized that my operating system was moving slower than normal and it was taking longer than usual to logon, I started doing a little trouble shooting to see if I could find the problem. I tried to debug the system by looking for the usual suspect - the devil (hmp...we give him too much credit!); I then tried to compress some files by "taking some things off of my plate." Well, when it was all said and done and I tried everything I knew to do, I realized it was time to reboot because girlfriend had just gotten plum lazy. Yep, I was the enemy in-a-me (get it, I was my own enemy).
Here are a few things that I'm going to recommit to doing now that I'm properly diagnosed:
1. I'm going to recommit to learning the memory scriptures. We've had 19 memory scripture posts and I may have memorized 10 of them. So....with that said, there will not be any new memory scriptures, we will rework the 19 posts that we already have. Beginning August 1, you will see Joshua 1:8 and John 1:1, our very first scriptures.
2. I'm going to recommit to a daily confession. Here's one that I put together and plan on speaking every morning. Feel free to speak along with me...
I am a magnet that attracts great things. My God will not withhold any good thing from me because He desires that I prosper and be in good health, even as my soul prospers. On this day I rejoice because I have the mind and wisdom of God and His spirit continually leads me into all truth.
Do you need to reboot? You may have a completely different diagnoses but I challenge you to look within and dare to reboot. I also challenge you to do something for 30 days straight, something you haven't done, and report the results. I cannot wait to blog about my experiences after I've spoken my daily confession for 30 days. Watch how it's about to be on and poppin up in here!
love ya!

Sober & Vigilant (RE: Memory Scripture 16)
What does it mean to be sober? According to Strong's Concordance, the Greek transliteration for "sober" (see #3525) is nēphō, which translates "to be calm and collected in spirit, to be temperate (mild or restrained in behavior or attitude), dispassionate (not influenced by emotion or personal feelings), and circumspect (to consider all possible circumstances and consequences before acting)."
What does it mean to be vigilant? Let's take a look at the Strong's Concordance once again. Per Strong's, the Greek transliteration for "vigilant" (see #1127) is grēgoreō, which translates "to watch, give strict attention to, be cautious, active," and here's the kicker - "to take heed lest through remission and indolence some destructive calamity suddenly overtake one."
Whoa! Wait a minute, let me go back and reread those definitions. That last one is serious!
When we are not on guard, not on our post, and unprepared, the enemy is able to bring sudden destructive calamity upon our lives. So, how do we prepare and strengthen ourselves to be ready for attack, whether it is within our homes, our families, our jobs, or our minds? Remember our Memory Scripture #7, 2 Corinthians 10:4-5? We have mighty weapons and God-tools just for this very thing. God's Word! The Bible states that God's Word is sharper than any two-edged sword. His Word has power; therefore when we know and speak it, we are empowered. Ah, but the key is to know it. We are admonished to hide the Word in our hearts not only that we not sin against God, but that knowledge and wisdom can be brought forth by the Holy Spirit at the right time.
So, in this season, we need to be faithful in our time spent in the Word and our time with God in prayer. Strengthening these two commitments to God will keep our minds sober and our spirits vigilant so our eyes (both natural and spiritual) will be open to the "roaring lion" and his pride that seeks to attack when our visibility (and discernment) is weak.
Be steadfast in faith, my sisters, and cling to our Father's Word!
~Kristina~
Memory Scripture 16
Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.
Before you read any further, reread the scripture and see if anything pops out at you.
Read it once more. Don't cheat, go ahead, read it.
I've read and quoted this scripture many times but for whatever reason the description "roaring lion" did not stick out to me. So wait, how are we often caught off guard? How is the devil allowed to gain as much ground as he does at times, in our homes, in our families, in our schools, in our minds, on our jobs, anywhere. He walks about like a roaring lion, not like a slithering snake, or a coy coyote, nor a sly fox, but a roaring lion. When I shared this with Theresa, she did some research and found out that a lion's roar can be heard from 5+ miles away and is used to (a) establish territory and/or (b) gather lost pride members (b is 'a whole nother' message).
As the scripture starts out saying, we must be sober and vigilant. I'll leave it up to you study what sober and vigilant means in this text. There's a link on this blog for a very good bible study tool, crosswalk. When someone gets the definition, please share;-)

Memory Scripture 14
Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.
message: Let's keep a firm grip on the promises that keep us going. He always keeps his word.
This scripture goes really well with memory scripture 7:
2 Corinthians 10:4 - 5 For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ. (remember, the message bible's translation - using our powerful God given tools to smash warped philosophies).
If the battlefield is in our mind, then we must take captive every thought that exalts itself against the word of God while simultaneously holding fast to the confession of our hope and faith. I truly believe that God is bringing His word and promises to past in the lives of believers - it's manifestation season. We cannot get stuck in what things look like or what hasn't happened yet or what has happened that seems to be polar opposite of God's promises. Hold fast to your confession. God keeps his word. Wow, I'm now tempted to add another memory scripture so I will :-).....
Isaiah 55:11:
So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.
I'm looking forward to each of you sharing great things with our blog community. Be blessed and remember, don't let your confessions contradict your hope.

Memory Scripture 13
Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom. And in all your getting, get understanding.
James 1:5
If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.
message: If you don't know what you're doing, pray to the Father. He loves to help. You'll get his help and won't be condescended to when you ask for it.

Obeying and Praying

Praying without Ceasing
Pray Without Ceasing...
In Romans 15:30, Paul begs the saints in Rome to strive together with him in their prayers. The word translated strive means primarily to contend as in athletic games or in a fight. In other words, the prayer which prevails with God is the prayer into which we put our whole soul, stretching out toward God in intense and agonizing desire. Much of our modern prayer lacks power because it lacks heart. We rush into God's presence, run through a string of petitions, jump up, and go out. If someone asks us an hour later what we prayed for, often we cannot remember. If we put so little heart into our prayers, we cannot expect God to put much heart into answering them.
Well...
Tee
Great Point About Prayer
I've been rereading a book titled "How to Pray" by R.A. Torrey. It is reminding me about the importance of prayer and approaching God the right way. This little passage blessed me Tuesday morning:
Praying Unto God (Chapter 2)(expounding on the verse "Prayer was made without ceasing of the church UNTO GOD for him" ~Acts 12:5)
NOTE: things in bold jumped out to me.
The prayer that has power is the prayer that is offered unto God. Some might say, "Is not all prayer offered unto God?" No. Very much of so-called prayer, both public and private, is not unto God. In order for a prayer to really be unto God, there must be a definite and conscious approach to God when we pray. We must have a definite and vivid realization that God is bending over us and listening as we pray. In very much of our prayer, there is really only little thought of God. Our mind is taken up with the thought of what we need and is not occupied with the thought of the mighty and loving Father of whom we are seeking it. Oftentimes, we are neither occupied with the need nor with the One to whom we are praying. Instead, our mind is wandering here and there throughout the world. There is no power in that sort of prayer. But, when we really come into God's presence, really meet Him face to face in the place of prayer, really seek the things that we desire from Him, then there is power.
I read this right after I spent time in "distracted" prayer. Needless to say, it was ON-TIME for me. Hope it blesses you too!
Tee
P.S. I have two more coming. Will rock your world if you're having trouble in your prayer life.

Fasting Recipe - Kale
For those who are engaged in the 21 day fast, I have a recipe for kale that I and others have found to be very good. I think it is good because you can enjoy a healthy, leafy green like kale without the bitter taste! I was sharing this recipe with Barbara and she encouraged me to put it on the blog and share it with everyone. ENJOY!
Ingredients:
Kale - fresh; not frozen; chopped like collard greens
Mushrooms - raw/fresh, slice or dice according to your preference
Onions - 1 raw onion diced
Garlic - (0ptional) 1-2 sliced garlic cloves or 1-2 teaspoons of minced garlic
Ground Ginger
McCormick Season Salt
Seasoning Blend - Mrs. Dash, McCormick - All Purpose Seasoning, or Trader Joes 21 Salute
1 can Coconut Milk
Olive Oil
Warning: I am not a cook that measures things. I just add, shake, and pour in seasonings to taste (except when baking). Barbara and Cree know what I am talking about :-) So be free...
Saute the onions, mushrooms, and garlic in olive oil on high heat. On medium heat in the same pan add the kale. Allow it to cook a little and then stir it. If you have alot of kale add a little at a time and stir. Add more as the kale cooks down. You will probably need to add some more olive oil depending on the amount of kale you have.
As you are cooking the kale, shake on the other seasonings to taste - ground ginger, season salt, and seasoning blend (I listed a few options in the ingredients list)
Finally, allow the kale to simmer in the coconut milk. Make sure you shake up the can before you open the can.
Let me know how you like it!

Memory Scripture 12
"Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever."
Expect Good Things
What are you expecting today? Are you expecting goodness to follow you everywhere you go or are you expecting to get the short end of the stick? Remember that God will meet you at the level of your expectations. Pay attention to what you are thinking about. Everyday imagine there are blessings, favor, increase, and promotion in your path. It's just a matter of time before you come across them. Start confessing everyday "something good is going to happen to me today." Expect goodness and mercy to chase you down. If you'll learn to raise your level of expectancy, God will pour out His blessings and favor on you....Joel Osteen

Fasting Recipe
- Beans
- Grains (i.e. brown rice & oatmeal)
- Fruits
- Veggies
- Salads
- Potatoes (white & sweet)
- Mushrooms (delicious when they are sauteed in garlic, olive oil, and salt)
Here is a recipe compliments from Patti LaBelle. I haven't tried it but my girlfriend Shayla loves it.
Ingredients:
- 1 medium head green cabbage (about 2 1/4 lbs)
- 3 tbs butter
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 medium carrots, cut into 1/2-inch dice
- 1 large red bell pepper, seeded and cut into 1/2-inch dice
- 2 large russet or Idaho potatoes, peeled and cut into 1-inch cubes
- 2 cups water
- seasoned salt and crushed red pepper flakes
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro, or parsley, optional
Cut off and discard the hard core from each wedge. Slice the cabbage into 1/2-inch wide strips. Set aside. In a deep 12-inch skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the onion, carrots, and bell pepper. Cook, stirring often, until softened, about 5 minutes. Stir in the cabbage and potatoes. Add the water and season with salt and red pepper flakes to taste. Bring to a boil. Reduce the heat to medium-low and cover. Cook until the potatoes are tender and most of the liquid has evaporated, about 20 minutes. Transfer to a serving dish, and sprinkle with the cilantro, if desired. Serve hot. (if you are not doing dairy and therefore do not want to use butter, you can always substitute with olive oil).

Memory Scripture 11
Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.
